Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy Type 2I/R9 (LGMD2I/R9) is a progressively debilitating disease that causes profound muscle wasting and weakness, mainly in the shoulder and hip areas. This is an ultra rare form of Muscular Dystrophy that can result in cardiovascular, respiratory and overall mobility challenges. To date, the CureLGMD2i Foundation has provided over $1,500,000 to research, advocacy and awareness programs focused on LGMD2I/R9.
